Ben Arent is the founder of bettie, http://bett.ie . A company developing innovative, accessible and inter-generational communications devices. Ben holds a Product Design degree and is currently working as an Interaction Designer at the TRIL centre. The TRIL centre develops new technology to keep older adults aging in place for as long as they can. Ben uses a user centred design process to involve and understand users. Enabling him to create useful and enticing technology designed for older adults who are ignored by today's design and developed efforts.
The design process created a product that tightly integrates hardware, software and services. This word resulted in a patented tangible user interface that enables users to simply interact and update the system. Ben will be presenting the latest work on bettie, and how good design enabled him to create an innovative solution.
